Chaired by internationally-celebrated designer Philippe Starck, the judging panel for the awards will also include numerous renowned personalities in the creative industry from both China and overseas.
This prestigious line-up of judges and awards will be a tremendous source of inspiration for budding designers and creative minds in China, whose talents will be required in the future to help develop new brands and continue improving product designs.
Staying true to the spirit of the BDCI exhibition, the awards have been divided into two main categories: Design and Brands. In total, there are 15 different categories for which three grand prizes (Gold, Silver and Bronze) and three merit prizes will be awarded.
The Design awards comprise three sections:
Product Design: Home décor, home appliances, consumer electronics, lifestyle products, accessories, food and vehicles.
Graphic Design: Packaging, multimedia, print and corporate identity.
Architecture: Commercial and building.
The Brand segment comprises three sections:
Best Western brand in China.
Best transition from OEM to OBM.
Best use of Chinese heritage in a modern brand.
Winners will be announced and winning products will be exhibited at the Gala dinner on 25 October 2005.
