Charles Landry is regarded as an international authority on city futures and the use of culture in city revitalization; cultural planning and heritage, strategic policy development, and the cultural industries.

He was invited by Shenzhen Municipal Government to visit Shenzhen and help Shenzhen unlock its creative potential and develop its cultural industries. 

Yesterday, Charles Landry accompanied by three journalists from Shenzhen business paper visited “City of Design”. He was warmly received by Sphinx. In International Conference Center of "City of Design", Sphinx representative played a video and made a PPT presentation for him to let him learn more about Sphinx and its successfully operated projects such as City of Design, Taicang loft, Shunde industrial design base, Jiangyin International Creative Harbor, BDCI, ICIF,etc. 

Then led by Sphinx representatives he paid a visit to DETEKT, APORT and NEWPLAN. In DETEKT, he had a good conversation with their design director and knew more about the situation of foreign companies in China. 

At last, he visited COD exhibition building and Sphinx office and met Sphinx General Manager Ms Han Feng Qin.

At 3pm February 11th 2009, Charles Landry will deliver a speech on global creative city development trends and Shenzhen’s creative future in Shenzhen Library.
