Tokyo (Japan) - The Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO), has announced the results of the 2009 Good Design Awards second screening. Entries for this year opened on 22 April and received 2,952 applications from all over the world.
As a result of first and second screening, 1,034 items received Good Design Awards. These include the Good Design Award Best 15 and other special awards.
Recipients of the Good Design Award Best 15 are selected as candidates for the Good Design Grand Prize, an award intended to single out the design that best addresses the latest design issues and excites a broad segment of society with a vision for the future. The final Good Design Grand Prize winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 6 November 2009.
Japan Design yearbook
In January 2010, the "Japan Design" yearbook will published, which will include all award winning items of the year.
