San Francisco (United States) - At the end of November, the Board of Trustees of California College of the Arts (CCA) approved Dream Big (PDF - 240KB) as the college's strategic plan for 2010–15. The plan outlines a distinctive vision for the college as a place of extraordinary promise and transformation for those who believe creative work can positively and powerfully affect our world.

CCA President Stephen Beal commented, "From beginning to end, this plan reflects the values of the CCA community - artistic and academic excellence, innovation, risk taking, diversity, collaboration, community engagement, social justice, and sustainability. It clearly defines our aspirations and challenges us to put them into operation."

The strategic planning process began in October 2008 and involved more than 650 members of the CCA community, including students, faculty, alumni, trustees, parents, and staff. Noted design firm IDEO helped the college craft a structure and process that would be as inclusive as possible, which consisted of research projects, brainstorming sessions, and visioning events.

President Beal continued, "I have been inspired and energised by the high level of participation in the development of the plan. Thank you to all who contributed their time, energy, and talent to helping us design a future path for this amazing institution."
